Connecting suppliers with buyers to reduce food waste and maximize value for everyone
At Second Harvest Wholesale, we're committed to sustainability, reducing food waste, and delivering quality produce to businesses that see value beyond cosmetic perfection.
Founded in 2018, Second Harvest Wholesale was born from a simple observation: millions of pounds of perfectly edible produce were being discarded due to minor cosmetic imperfections. With extensive experience in the agricultural industry, our team created a solution that benefits everyone in the food supply chain.
Our mission is to create a more sustainable food system by rescuing perfectly good produce that would otherwise go to waste, while providing affordable options to our partners. We purchase No.2 and No.3 grade produce directly from farmers at fair prices, giving them income for products that might otherwise be plowed under. We then distribute this produce to businesses that value nutrition and taste over appearance, creating a win-win-win situation for farmers, businesses, and the environment.
Since our founding, we've prevented approximately 5 million pounds of produce from going to waste. This has saved an estimated:
Reducing environmental impact by preventing food waste
Ensuring nutritional value and taste in every product
Creating win-win relationships with suppliers and buyers
